99C in .250-3000?
« on: August 20, 2008, 09:28:40 AM »
Did Savage ever make a 99C in .250-3000?  I recently bought a non-barreled action that was missing the clip.  I obtained one from Numrich, which they show to be .308/.243/.25-3000 . . . I thought they only came in .308/.284/.243.  If they did, I would like to go with this caliber, but may smith says it won't feed.  Any help would be appreciated, as I HAVE to choose a caliber!  Thanks in advance.

As I remember, he C was never made in .250.  The magazines are usually marked 243/308.  I had one in .243 rebored to .358 by the late Dick Nickel.  My 'smith had to do some work to make it feed, but it works great.  I gonna use it deer hunting this year for the first time in years.
