New 204 Bull Barrel Had to tell someone!

New to this forum, bringing news of my first NEF single shot. Sighted in with factory amo ( super X 34 gr. Lubalox hp.)  Couldn't be happier! Heard horror strories about accuracy and decided to see for myself.
groups under 1/4" at 25 yards, from the hood of my mini van in the wind.  The rifle shoots better than me! Cronographed the last 3 shots in the box. !rst 3968 fps, 2nd 4048 fps, and 3rd 4006 fps.

May try these factory loads on Cyotes.  Thought I was going to have to mess with a lot of things to get it to shoot this well.  Happy to be wrong.

Welcome to GBO. This is a great site. You found out what a lot of 204 shooters already know. There are some rounds that just seem to shoot well in the Handi. The 204 is one of the those.

Welcome aboard you come to the right place to brag about your Handi WE UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!! Wait til ya see your first Prairie Dog pop at 300 yrds or if gophers are your vermin put a good scope onit and cut them in half at 200yrds it will pretty much dispatch any varmint out there. Most of the negative talk about these guns comes from those who don't even own one... it keeps them from feeling bad, they must have a much better gun cause they paid way more for it. ;) Kurt

After a 23 year break from calling coyotes, I decided to get back into it. I couldn't find any bullets for my 257 RBTS that wouldn't destroy the pelts. To stay married I had to sell a toy to get a toy, as money is tight. A hard thing to do.  I just couldn't come up with the $ for a TC, that a friend said I should get instead of the Handi. I bought both of my 257's used with accuracy problems and got them to shoot 1/2 inch groups with several different bullet weights and loads, so I thought I would take a chance on the Handi and figure it out.  I couldn't find the 35 Grain Berger match varmint bullets I wanted, so I bought 2 boxes of super X.  I was surprised and ecstatic when it sighted in quickly and started putting rounds in the same hole at 25 yards! Now I just have to figure out where that puts the bullet at 100 through 300 yards!

I am already trying to figure out how to keep out of trouble with my wife and get more barrels! LOL I would love to have a 17 Fireball on this same action. Do you think I could beg them to do it?

That sounds like many of us here, we take the chance and get it to shoot and are happy campers.One warning though, you can't stop a one  :D :D Don't believe it ask Tim  :o

My 204 shoots really awesome. My furthest shot with it so far is a crow at 320. Many many shots at 200 and watch the crows fall in 2  pieces. Woodchucks no problem got one a 298 lasered, never moved. Mine likes the 32 gr sierra blitzkings and reloader 10x powder.

As far as extra barrels go............. tell wifeee you have to send your gun out to get repaired.  Don't tell her you shipped it without a barrel and when it comes back,,, it is just coming back!!

I've been doing the same thing for about a year now. Rifle goes out in a small box, comes back in a big box or two. Always for warranty repair work.
