Question for Mr. Smale
« on: July 30, 2008, 03:20:13 PM »
I have a Ruger Blackhawk with a 2x Burris scope. It is a 45 LC. shots ok But I am not an expert. Should I invest the time and money and send the cylinder off to the cylinder smith? I have read good things about him and his work. Will it help. I can't push a .451 bullet through the cylinder throats.

If your shooting cast bullets yes. Jacketed bullet dont seem to be effected as much by tight chambers. Hes done every 45 colt ive ever bought and my 32 mags too. Ruger tends to make them to tight also. Ive never yet seen where a gun shot worse after it was done and some shot dramaticaly better.

Will be hunting deer with jacketed bullets but have lots of cast bullets for practice and hog hunting. Should I wait or do it now to be able to be happy with both. Thanks/

For what it costs, why not.  It certainly wouldn't shoot worse after the service is done.
