brass casted barrel given life

Heres's a casted brass barrel given to me by a good friend, not the greatest casting I ever seen but I just thought she needed the chance to speak. So I reach out to Dominick Carpenter, to finish boring out the barrel and add a seamless sleeve, requested a twin trail carriage and   micro linstock and here are the results. That's a pretty piece EL Cazador. It reminds me of this one, a copy of a French gun at Fort Caroline on the south bank of the St. Johns river, east of Jacksonville, Florida.

not the greatest casting I ever seen

Hi El Caz, I don't know about that; it looks like a keeper to me, it has an interesting shape and I like the dolphins. What caliber did it end up with after Dom installed the liner and what length is the barrel?

Hey Boom J, Don't get wrong I actually like this little girl a lot. She has some minor flaws, dolphins where mounted uneven and the Cascabel is bent slightly. But, yes as in all beautiful women you'll always find a little imperfections.  As men we always tend to ignore this little things .. Her measurements are 14" long bore size I believe is a 30 Cal.

Very nice videos Ed.  I sleeved the cannon with 1/2" o.d. x .058 wall 4130.  The I.D. is .385 +/- which would make it a .38 caliber.     Dom
