Howdy Guys,
A family friend has a 4 year old Laminated-Stainless Ruger with a 3x9 Nikon (I think Monarch). He's got 800.00 into it and needs cash. Any ideas on what I should offer. It is really just broke in.

Animal :  The book shows the rifle 77/22-VHZ hornet varmit stainless laminated at 100% to be worth $430 the Suggested retail at $545 add the value you are willing to pay for his scope and you will be close I wouldnt go much over$510 on my offer. :D  JIM

A few years back I walked into that same gun in the Alstead Gun shop. They were asking $185 for it used, no scope, but had rings and two clips.  The gun was 98%.

I figured for the price it had to be a real turkey, something had to be wrong with it.  Hemmed and hawed for a spell and bought it figuring I'd find out what was wrong with it and then peddle it.

I have the rifle to this day and it is one of the best deals I ever got!  No gray squirrel will keep his head out to 75 yards when I got that rifle in my hands.  The report is quiet, recoil is extant, and she'll do an honest 1/2 inch at 100 yards for 5 shots if the wind isn't up.

I love the rifle to say the least. Even gave thought to the same rig in the 308 as it would be the berries for slapping the boogies out of whitetails off a stand.

I reckon I next to stole mine at the price I paid, neat for a change :wink:

I got one and like 'coug2wolfs' is one of the most accurate rifles going.  Reloading a pound of powder seems to last forever.  Like 'jhm' says don't go over $500.00 or so even if it's brand new.  I've seen these rifles new, on sale a few times, going for as little as $399.00 at Big Five Sports a couple of years ago.  Lawdog
