Leather lace on butt pad from Brownell's? Anyone ever used one on a BC?

http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=1869&title=LEATHER%20LACE-ON%20RECOIL%20PAD

I've also been thinking of trying to put a metal butt plate from a mmuzzleloader or a levergun on in place of the stock one.
The top edge of the stock plate on mine has a sharp edge and is actually cutting into me when I shoot (I have very big, heavy shoulders). I either have to pad it or replace it and I don't want to do anything that makes it look less old fashioned.
If he's carrying a singleshot, don't expect a warning shot!

The leather lace-on is quite common with BC shooters for the very reason you said and the fact that it does help with recoil control in the upper end loads , also they look good too .

They are money well spent if you ask me .  ;) and a whole lot easier than replacing the factory butt plate .
