Hi. I've got a 1917 Enfield action that I've had sitting on my shelf for too long, and I have told myself that I have to have it built into SOMETHING.
Now, I found a good deal on a straightened triggerguard for it quite a while back. Problem is, I have not been able to find a shortened magazine box ANYWHERE, and the few gunsmiths that list that specific service on the web have not responded to emails. I tried to do the job myself and well, lets just say I now need to order another magazine box, so I'm not tempted to try that again

.
I noticed though that the Remington Model 30 was supposedly built mostly as a copy of an 1917 Enfield (because Remington was already tooled up to make them). So, I was wondering: since it's already shortened to the correct length, does anyone know if a Remington Model 30 magazine box will fit a 1917 Enfield action (assuming an already straitened trigger guard, which I have)?
Thanks.
