Need honest opinion & Looking for....
« on: July 09, 2008, 03:38:10 AM »
Okay folks, I've been bit with the .32 bug. Ended up with a .32 H&R SP101 and a 32 H&R Dan wesson, so now I'm on the hunt for a S&W .32 Long. Looking for a 30, 31, 0r 32 model (newer style) and would like opinions from owners on what they think and if anyone has one wanting to get rid of. I do not want the snubbie 2" I'd like a 3 or 4 inch model. Prices for a mint run 500-600 which is well over what I'd be willing to pay as I'm not looking for a collector piece just a shooter.

Hello Reed
Finding a S&W in .32 S&W Long caliber in a revolver will be very tough for any less than $400.00-$500.00 Mark. They have recently Taken a jump in Intrest and buyers will pay that for a good one. I would suggest just being patient and watch either Gunbroker.com or Auction Arms for a deal on one. I carry the Pre-30 shown. I had it Hard Chromed and the finish was very bad when I bought it and still had to give $250.00 for it. They are getting harder to locate due to consumer demand and they haven't made this caliber in any S&W's since the late 1970's. I recently came across the K-32 Masterpiece shown. This is the toughest to find of the masterpiece series as they only produced 3770 of them from 1947-1974. The one shown is an early Post-War Thin barrel rib Five screw model that shipped in 1951. I had to swap Two S&W revolver's to get this one, but as they average between $3500.00-$4500.00 range due to their Rarity, it was well worth it to me. The model 16-4 shown is in .32 H&R Magnum. It was made from 1989-1992. I bought the one shown new in box about Five years ago and Paid $600.00 for it. I have turned down $1000.00 for it and will not sell any of my .32 revolvers because they are so hard to find. Good luck in your hunt for one. Regards, Hammerdown
