Sabot for the .457 bore?
« on: June 24, 2008, 08:33:47 AM »
I've hunted all over and been unable to find a sabot that will fit the 45-70 bore properly.  Anyone know where such could be found?

Thanks for the links, I've got a phone call out and doing research.  Finding the same thing as elsewhere so far, no one lists the OD of the sabots.  I've got a few bags that I ordered that were supposed to be .459 or so and they end up being .455 or .456.  Don't shoot worth a tinkers dam.

Had a few sabots that fit the bore some time back that were given to me.  Made up a multi-ball load using .455 balls and a shortened sabot.  Worked well for short range varmint control but I had been unable to find any more .458 sabots till now.  Don't think a paper patch would work.   :)
