loose 243
« on: June 23, 2008, 03:42:32 PM »
I bought a handi with a 50 Cal. in line and a .243 barrel. The 50 is nice and snug but I have noticed that the 243 is has a little play in it when it is closed. Should I send it back?

If you bought it new I would say yes, and hurry while you can. No one knows if Remington /Cerebus will honor any existing H&R/NEF warranties. One thing is for sure, they will not be able to measure up to the wonderful people in the H&R Customer Sservice Department now....<><....:(

Ya it should go back to the factory , I would call them first though , with the plant move it may be some time before you get the rifle back , maybe months .

If your the do it yourself type check the FAQs for barrel fitting , it may be a simple fix that you can do .

Not sure that H&R ever made a 243 / 50 ML combo so this could be a case of someone buying a 2nd hand barrel for the ML and it may not be the proper frame for the 243 .

I bought the gun new from the factory with these two barrels because that is what I had use for.  .243 heavy barrel and 50 cal in line.
