.223 vs .22 cal. shooting technics

This might be a dumb question but, when shooting my .223 at targets, will it be a little harder to get as good of groups as I do with my .22 due to the small amount of muzzle jump on the .223? I realize that the guns themselves make a difference as well as bullet weights just a question (in general). also, when shooting off front and rear bags, should the gun be held with both hands or, just the trigger hand?  the two guns are-Savage 10FLP .223 and the CZ452 Varmint .22 cal.   Thanks for all advice!   :)

IMO all things being equal(which they aren't)the groups should be equal regardless of recoil.My best .223 groups better at 100 yards than my best .22LR does at 50 yards simply because the .223 is a more accurate rifle.As fas as holding ,myself,I hold with one hand with light recoiling rifles but use both with the heavier kicking ones mainly because it seems  I can snug it tighter to my shoulder.Does it make a difference?Try it both ways and see which works best for you.

Read up on a technique known as "free recoil" and then experiment. You may find some interesting results.

 i have found the same to be true.. no difference in groups between my savage 110 30 06 and my cz 452 .. i do think managing the recoil of the 06 makes it an harder task ..
 doable but requiring more skill ..

 The short answer is that they should both group as well if they are equal guns. Now for the reality, you are on the other end of the equation and you already know that the 223 will have a little jump, so you are probably going to try to compensate for it and open the group. The tightest groups that I have ever seen were shot with 17hmr rifles @ 100yds. This only makes sense since the rimfires recoil is so small that the cross hair in the scope never moves!
 Using two bags, you will need to adjust them forwards and backwards until you know where the bags need to be on that rifle to shoots the best. For shots from 0-250yds I use my right hand on the trigger and my left on the back bag. After 250yds I use my left hand to steady the rifle on the front bag ( I can see my heart beat in the scope ). Play around with it and you will find what works for you. Good luck,
