Freedom Arms 97 in 327 Federal
« on: June 18, 2008, 05:56:12 AM »
A good friend posed a question to me if I had heard any thing about a Freedom Arms 327 Federal necked down to 22 long rifles? So I thought I would post it on the best Freedom Arms forum on the web to see if we can get some info and thoughts on such a cartridge.

It has not been announced, but they are testing a ".224 / 327 Federal" in a Mdl. 97. I understand that there has been some discussion about necking the 327 to other calibers also, including .25, which would be my choice.

Yes indeed ... and it is a good shooting son of a gun too.  40 gr bullet at 2350 fps +/-. I did not think I would like it all that much but it was just about as much fun as their new single shot.

I guess I am old fashioned as high velocity and sixguns just doesn't do it for me.

 I could picture myself with a 7 1/2" Mod 97 in this .22/327 caliber ......with a 4X Leupold mounted .....a cylinder full of 2400 fps 40 grainers..... peeking over a knoll.....within 100 to 150 yards of a hot prairie dog town....... ;D ;D
