Questions about an Engine

I have a 2000 Chevrolet 3/4 ton crew cab with the 7.4l (454ci) vortec engine. Truck has 70,000 miles on it and I was wondering what experience others have had with the engine in regards to reliability.

the 454 in all it's versions is generally considered to be a pretty reliable but VERY thirsty engine. Think 8 MPG
