Gettin' the scope down low...

I've had accessory barrels done up for my .45-70 BC, one in .204, the other .500 S&W.  All three are scoped up now, but with the low comb of this stock, I'd sure like to get the scopes down a LOT closer to the barrel.  Has anyone attempted to lower the hammer, reshape it, or do SOMETHING with it to get some more clearance at that point?

The FAQ's are a wonderful place to start. If ya got scopes on all of them put a monte carlo stock on it. Kurt

filed mine down flush with the hammer side extender deal. and it barly misses, my scope is very close...

If I owned a BC I would put one of those lace on leather cheek pieces to raise my face to the scope.  It's removable, plus I think they look neat.
