I believe Cabelas and various others sell them.  I haven't found anything to work in my TJ because the console is in the way.

I bought a couple for cablelas. I dont think they will work as advertised as there just no room but i think i can fab them to mount on the roll cage behind the front seat.

Have you seen the overhead gun racks??? I was wondering if one of those could be modified to fit the roll  bars without alot of effort?

problem with them would be because your gun is hanging youd need a better strap system and it would be a bit slower to get your gun out to use.

Isn't hunting from or anywhere near a vehicle illegal just about everywhere.


I just buckle my rifle into the passenger seat using the seatbelt

you cant shoot out of a vehicle here but you can hunt out of one and i still need to transport guns and about allways have a rifle in my vehicle so i need a way to carry one that is out of the way and not going to get banged around.

I've always found that gun racks were like advertising to "Please Break In My Vehicle!"......I just keep them in the back seat in soft cases.  When I take a run to the store, I hide them under clothes and stuff in the floor boards.  I've never had a problem...I can't say that for one of my buddies who had his window smashed and a Browning A-bolt stolen off his rack while we were eating at a Cracker Barrel.

 I live in a very low crime area where you still see guns in the back window of a truck. Sure its possible to get one stole even here but its unlikely. I found two cheap ones at cabellas that i got today that look like they will easily be able to be mounted on the down pipes on the roll cage. They will even easily be able to be fitted with a paddle lock for security but that would take away the fast easy access if a guy had to fumble with a paddle lock. But then i allways have a sixgun on my hip anyway.

Lloyd what did you get?  I'm kinda interested because my gun will never stay on the seat of my jeep it always slides off and hits the console and smacks into the floorboard between the seats....
