TIKA M595 VS REMINGTON 700 ADL
« on: June 04, 2008, 06:53:08 AM »
I would like some opinions on which of these two rifles would be the best choice used, in good condition? the TIKA is 243 cal. and the REM. is 270 cal.   Thanks!    :)

I can answer part of this.... I have a Tikka 595 whitetail hunter in 7mm-08 ( and a 695 in 7mmRM).  It is a fine gun, smooth action, one of the better triggers to come from a factory.  It shoots usually less than an inch at 100 if I do my part.  Overall, I think it's a fine gun for the money.
The only Rem 700 I have is a CDL (35 Whelen).  I've heard that the 700 triggers may not be the best.  I did adjust mine, but it still not exactly where I want it.  Guess my gunsmith skills need work.  Usually the ADL has iron sights, and the Tikka does not.  The Tikka has a removable mag. and the ADL is internal.
With the two guns mentioned being different calibers, that may have some impact into your choice.  I am not a 243 fan.
Good luck,

Thanks for the info, well due to funds I had to go with a used Savage 10FP in .223 cal. but I think it will serve my purpose of a coyote once in a while and ocasional paper punching which i use my CZ452 Varmint .22 for most of the time due to ammo prices.  Thanks!   :)
