Does anyone have any quality loads for the 257 Ackley Improved. So far it seem anything I put down the barrel hover around an inch at 100 yds.. Looking to cut down barrel wear.

First off I wouldn't worry about barrel wear, if I'm reading this right.
Guns are both tools and toys,,,,to have fun and be proficient with them, you have to use them in my mind. With that said, with a good barrel to begin with, you should expect 2-3000 rnds before accuracy starts tailing off. Thats been my experience so far, but another 2-3000 rnds before I call it unacceptable. That depends on the use of course,,,varmint rigs are less that in all respects. 1" groups aren't bad but not great either,,,when you say everything you tried, and thats the best it does with various powders and what not, then I might look at the stock bedding and other possibities The key is not to shoot so fast as to get them hot as stated in Lone's post. But let me put it another way. I figure any piece of hunting equipement that cost 25-50 bucks a year is fair enough for my pleasure. Take a good pair off hunting boots for example, they last me about 3 years,,,see what I'm driving at? For big game hunting guns, if I have to rebarrel after 5-10 years, so beit. Varmint barrels get shot far more often (in my case) and cost me more, but it's one of acceptable expectations too. I shoot it enough to have intimate knowledge of any gun's capabilities. I like to play more with mine in the off season.
Beyond that if you are looking for somebody else's favorite load with a particular bullet, there's a are fair chance that it'll mean squat really. Barrels/guns have their own personalities, and the only way to find it out is to shoot it with various load components.
That's not saying you can get lucky in asking though!
