New TC owner. What barrel length do I need?
« on: July 20, 2003, 03:39:04 PM »
My wife surprised me with a 7mm-08 TC Encore rifle for our anniversary and now I want to convert to a 22 Hornet pistol. What barrel length should I go for? I'm thinking along the lines of a 10" Bull. Also since  money is scarce right now where can I find what I need?

Personally I like my pistols in a 12" length untill the power factor starts becoming a factor. Then I'll start going longer.  KN

As far as finding what you need..one stop shopping..check with Ed..his ad appears at the top of the GB Thompson Center Handgun Forum.

Just a word of caution ,
In most places that I know of you cannot legally just convert a rifle to a pistol . Please check your local laws first.
And they are right , you will have a hard time beating Eds prices . Cabelas also offers the hornet in a rifle barrel.

As long as you have a pistol grip it doesn't matter what length the barrel is.  If you plan on short range hunting 10" is good.  If you want long range, go with a 14".  Ed's is one of the best.  Tell him what you want and go from there.  Dan
