I think I learned something.....

I was at my son's home today doing some plinking with my .44 mag, His .40 S&W, and my youngest son's .480 ruger, as well as sighting in my new Ruger #1.
I had the .44 loaded with CCI  snakeshot, which I have never used in this particular revolver. I fired one out across the pond to see what the results would be, and reloaded that chamber with a cartridge that had a 245 gr. bullet with a load of bluedot.  When I fired THAT round off, I noticed that the Shotshells had moved forward, attempting to bind the cylinder.. I don't think I'll be trying that stunt again.
BTW, the best loads I found for the plain based 245gr SWC was 22 gr. of H110, and 21 gr. of 2400 so far. The Bluedot just ain't working for me, either in the .44 Mag or the .45Colt.

Blue Dot's not my favorite either. Have three pounders and they all burn different. One is like Bullseye and the other two are a toss up. I've tried some Longshot in the 45 LC and it seems to show promise. Need to do some more testing on it for reduced loads in the 454 ect.  I really like it in my 10ga turkey loads as it's cleaner and faster than BD. For full power it's pretty hard to beat H110 although LilGun down loads better and has some pretty good uumph to it when loaded up.
