meat ban

So, what's the latest on the mad cow thing/meat banned (including wild animal) from entering the US from our northern neighbors?

I have heard that sport hunters can bring back cape and "cleaned" skull plate (limit 2 sets of antlers).

Anybody got the straight scoop as of late?

I cross the border at pembina, nd 5 nights a week. Talked to the usda inspector this week. no meat of any  kind, same with capes and skull plates. I would suggest you contact the usda office in pembina. I can get you the number if need be.

Thanks for the info--I live at Cavalier, ND, and go North about every 3 weeks or so, crossing at Neche or Walhalla.  The people at these smaller crossings complain that "nobody tells us anything".  I understand their frustration, and can only imagine what this will do to the sport hunting industry this coming fall.

Bad enough we would have to leave the meat behind, but who wants to leave the cape/antlers?  I go North to "get out of Dodge" and to enjoy a quality hunting experience.  The animal harvested is icing on the cake, but I sure enjoy looking at the wall and reliving the memories!
