Browning Gold opinions please
« on: May 10, 2008, 06:12:43 PM »
I'm looking at a Browning Gold Semi Auto 12 ga 3" shotgun. Any experiences good or bad with these? I'm going to use it primarily for Trap shooting and pheasants. How does it shoot the lighter trap loads?

Thanks in advance
Dave

I have a 12 & 20 Gold. The 12 is a 26" Stalker model, 3". I like them very much & have never had any feeding or cycling problems. I do keep them clean and mostly use heavier loads in the 12. As you probably know there is the $100 rebate on the Gold right now.

Thanks for the reply.

I've kinda changed direction. I was looking at a used Gold Hunter, and it just didn't feel right so I backed away. If another one came up that seemed right I might very well be interested due to the positive things I've heard about them.

I have committed to a BEAUTIFUL older Remington 1100 Tournament Trap. Barely used, beautiful wood, and the price is right. I've never been one to buy a gun to not use, and just put in a rack to look at and keep, but I'm making an exception for this one.

I'm now focusing my attention on a used Citori with changeable chokes, or some such some O/U for trap, skeet, and pheasant/grouse hunting.

I'll keep you posted.
