G'Day everyone, I was wondering Tim ,whether you had heard anything regarding the ultra hunter 45/70, since they have been talking about shutting the factory. Got two on order over here in oz and we've been told by the importer ,due to arrive July ,but I'm now doubtful due to the closure, any information appreciated
Cheers mate

They're scheduled for production in May, the Gardner plant isnt' scheduled for shutdown until September, so if all goes according to plan, you should get one as planned. Even if that doesn't happen, they'll be made where ever they move production to which will be one of three Remington plants or a Marlin plant. Barrel fitting is already planned to move to Kentucky, a little closer to OZ, but not quite close enough, unfortunately!! :'(

I'm not positive, but Remington has a firearms plant in Hickory, just a guess since I know production will be moving to one or more of the three Remington plants and possibly one Marlin plant, and CS told a member here that barrel fitting was moving to Kentucky, partly speculation, partly facts so far, I'll know more later this week or next week as they formulate their specific plans, Cookie talked to Jennifer, they're still making firearms and fitting barrels, layoffs start in June and the Gardner plant is scheduled to close in September.
