I would like to think it's pretty obvious Blajagovich will be gone after this term. Do you think we have a shot at a conceal carry or not until Herr Daley is gone also?

My state senator, Dan Rutherford, has a running survey on this subject and he back concealed carry. One of the more sensible people down in Springfield. When Blogojavch is gone Daley will definitely be our biggest boat anchor. Another anti "do nothing" is Emil Jones, president of the Il. senate, he arranged for his wife to get a raise before they got married? Do we really need people like these two running top offices in our state?

Do you have a link for that article? I think they tried that at the taste of Chicago one year but the police said they would be arresting anyone that tried it.

ILLANNOY is being held back by Chicago. The rest of the state is full of great, sensible people. I live an hour away from Illinois, but I will never hunt, fish, or spend any money whatsoever in that state until they allow me to defend myself and be within the bounds of the law.

While I understand your opinion, you are missing out on some great opportunities here. I tend to do most of my outdoors activities farther south, Shawnee national forest, Rend lake, lake shelbyville, lake of Egypt. The shawnee has a lot of open hunting land and the crappies down there are great. Until I started hunting down there I didn't know there was land that beautiful in Illinois.

I also wish we could lop off the north eastern corner of the state. Just give me some warning so I can get out of here first.

I've fished Illinois a bit. Wish I could fish it more but I don't like stopping at the state line, unloading my pistol, putting it in the trunk, then driving through East St. Louis.

I've heard that there are hogs in the Shawnee nat'l forest, but could never get anyone to confirm that. That is one thing that might bring me back over the border. I just don't like paying good money to support a system that denies it's residents the right to protect themselves against criminals.

We will be lucky to keep our guns much less be able to carry them!!! Kevin the reason you can't get anyone to confirm hogs in the Shawnee cause they really ain't there and the few that are there get shot by the locals and are kept in check they do a very good job and are very tight lipped about it . I have done extensive search and scouts in several areas for the last many years on this... you may be able to find a cougar easier than a hog down there. Lots of other good hunting down there though.Kurt

Y'all ought to move on over to the land of milk and honey known as Missouri. Don't need no steenking card to buy our guns, and don't gotta wait to pick them up either. Just dial in to NICS and be on your merry way with any long gun or pistol you can find. Plus the .gov trusts you to carry your piece if you go through the steps. Don't need any permit at all to carry it concealed in your car.

And to top it all off, we don't have governor Rod "it costs you schmucks $3000 per day to fly me to the capitol" Blagoyovitch or however you spell it. No Daley or Obama either

We'll go easy on you yankee boys too, we know it's rough over there in The People's Republic of Illinois.

Sort of depends where you're at and what you do. I don't think we're any worse off than Illinois.

alot of jobs pay better in MO you just have to pay tax for both states and deal with the traffic but pay is better and more jobs to be had depending on what you do i will probably have to go that direction when i get my new career lined out to get the real good money and i have to look for the link i will here is a link you guys can check out it is an artcle from the chicago tribune in first section

That probably depends on where in Illinois you're comparing it to. It's hard to beat the wages in the Chicagoland area, at least for me a union carpenter.

In Springfield, MO a good friend of mine lives in a small but nice apartment, drives a new truck, and lives comfortably working a part-time job and going to school. I was amazed at the low cost of living down there.

Illinois will have a conceal carry law when Chicago is chopped off and pushed out into the lake.

i do agree with sds about pushing chicago into the lake have thought that for yrs though. I was a union man for yrs but that job left the country. Really don't matter which state you live in bith have good paying jobs but seems that most of the good ones in my area have left or are in the process of leaving that is problem here i will also say that being fairly close to MO there seem to be more jobs to be had in MO but there are not really any decent sized towns close by to get the better paying jobs. the wages are good for the area if you can find work but most of the factories are gone and i have visited chicagoland would prefer not to live there.

I hear that, I live here and don't want to live here. My son is graduating grammar school and making his confirmation next year and my daughter is having her first communion next year so we're probably pushing off moving until after the next school year. Although housing prices are very tempting now.

i live in IL but a rural area with no work and have had to take jobs in MO on occassion. Some have paid better than others. My last job was in IL but it left and went to Mexico, and when i finish school for my new career i will have to see where i get a job. I like IL but i sure do wish we could get rid of chicago it might be much better place to live.
