Place to stay in PA

I'd like to introduce my son to deer hunting with a rifle, without a 12- hour drive.  Years ago, I used to stay with a PA. farm family who supplemented their income by taking in hunters.  We helped out with barnyard chores in between morning and afternoon hunts, and everyone was happy.  And it was quite reasonable.  Sadly, that couple has since divorced, and the farm sold.  Do any of you PA. folks know of anyone who'd be willing to accomodate an experienced hunter and his not-so-experienced son?

That is pretty tough to find in today's Pennsylvania. Farms are being sold to developers quicker than you can blink your eye.

 :'(Yeah, I've noticed that, and it's a cryin' shame.  Took a ride up to Cabela's in Hamburg last week.  It was shocking to see all the 'McMansions' covering what were beautiful hillsides just a few years ago.

One option is to rent one of the cabins in a Pennsylvania state park. We've gotten permission to hunt a farm in Tioga county, and last year we stayed at a motel ($). We've already reserved a place in a state park for October Muzzleloader.

Thanks, Davem.270win, that's an outstanding idea!  Even the idea of renting a motel room for a week wouldn't be too costly.  Might have to plan a weekend 'scouting trip' in the next couple of weeks to see what is available out there.

When I go down south for a short weekend I stay at a motel 6. Pretty cheap and it is nice to come home to a hot shower after being outdoors all day.

You just wait til we get all our mountain tops lined with them new fangled windmills so we can send the electric to jersey , can't wait tell you want , what a sight to see , bring the camera to,send a postcard , whoopee , what a landscape it'll be and then when they are no longer of any use , they'll still be there and we can still gaze upon them.
anyhow , to the O.P , keep in mind many Pa state parks remain open threw deer season , get yourself a cheap camper with heat and forget the motels , filthy places really.
I can clue you in to a few state parks open during gun season that are near public hunting grounds , if you want burn me a p.m
