Forgot how much fun my 223 could be
« on: April 05, 2008, 12:46:03 PM »
Decided to take the old 223 Bull Barrel out for a date today , she got put in the back burner while i worked with my 25/06 and 224GNR . So i grabbed a couple of boxes of ammo and headed to the range .

Got all set up and fired the first shot , 4" up and to the right  ??? , don't remember it being that far off when i shot it last . Checked the scope , the mount and the crown , and then it hit me , when i had put it up for the winter i had run Wipe-out down the bore and scrubbed it good . Long story short , fired another 4 fouling shots and all was well in my world again .  ;D

Going to have to start leaving myself notes as the old-timers is starting to kick in .  ;)

Just bought a bull Ultra Varmint last couple of weeks.  Had several hundred rounds of empty military brass and today am going to size and primer them.  All in prep for exactly your post; fun shooting.  Someone gave me 500 rds of 55 gr solids so will have lots of fun getting rid of them before using SP bullets.  Fun to find the right hand load too.
Greg lost his battle with cancer last week on April 2nd 2009. RIP Greg. We miss you.
