Any Luck with the Cats ?

Are any of you fellow cat chasers having any luck this summer? My biggest challenge is finding the time to go chase those darn catfish.  The last time I was able to go was over the 4th of july weekend. We took 6 kids and 4 grown-ups  camping and fishing at lake Oahe, on the Missouri river in central South Dakota. We couldn't muster up a big cat, but every body was catching little ones from the shore by camp. It was kind of fun because the little 1.5 to 2 pound cats were hitting everything from 4inch bluegills to minnows to silver spoons, and curly tail grubs , to berkely powerbait jerk shads. They acted like they were starving but, they were all fat and healthy.......... and delicious.   I hope you guys are having a good summer, if any of you are having some luck with the cats, come to this forum and tell us about it.  I know all the cat addicts that come to this forum are needing some new material to digest.

:grin: We have done a lot of fishing here in Ia. and we did a lot of fishing out here. We have caught a lot of 1.5 to 5 #'s out here on chicken livers and we found out the place that we go have 10-40 pounders in the lake. we also use nightcrawlers to. we have also been catching 1.5 ponders of blue gills too. One weekend three of us adults caught 35 blue gills and ten blue cats too.

I've been a couple of times, the only one I caught was a twelve and a half pound, 37 inch channel cat.

This is my first year after catfish but I did catch a 18 inch 5 pound channel cat.
