Hello, I a looking to find the dimensions on the Smith and Wesson 637 (I am having trouble accessing Smith and Wesson's website). If anyone owns a 637 I would appreciate knowing the length, height and width of one. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

 The closest I have is the 2" Model 37. I have seen S&W's site off line on the weekends too for some reason. Another thing you can try is the descriptions from vendors like buds gunshop or other dealers on Gunbroker.com . Most seem to have a copy of the factory stats about the gun.

 My 37 is the standard 2"(or 1 7/8") S&W "J" frame older snub. This is an 'airweight' 38, so it's on the lighter side. It's lightweight but not as light or expensive as the scandium models. Are you looking for a lightweight CC gun? If so check out the 638 S&W 38, for the price, weight & all it is well worth a look.

The 2" barrel model 637 dimensions you are looking for are as follow:

L=6.3 inches
H=4.25 inches
W=1.3 inches

Length, height, & width can all vary a bit depending on the type of grips you choose to use.  The above dimensions were taken using factory grips.  The cylinder defines the widest point if you use factory grips.  Not necessarily so with some aftermarket handles.

I do agree with 1Sourdough that the model 638 Bodyguard is a better choice because of the snag-free draw, and I think it might be a little easier to find.  There are lots of standard model 37's out there but I don't see many 637's.

Actually my primary CONCEALED carry weapon is a first model Colt Agent airweight.  I'm an old geezer so I still use real leather holsters.  I carry the Agent in a Bucheimer Concealer holster.

My wife does use a model 37, but she has one of those purses that double as a holster.

Fobus makes a pretty nice open-top holster that retains a J-frame real well, if you like plastic.
