If you like the 308, you'll love a 7mm-08.  They are available in LH from Rem.

I own Sako, Remington, Savage, Marlin, Browning, CZ and one Tikka T3.  My Tikka is my number one hunting rifle and gets USED.  It shoots great and light weight.

I have a T3 stainless lite in 308
tack driver, super trigger
only thing I have done to mine is a limbsaver recoil pad and a set of Warne rings

I also have 2 Sakos, honestly, they don't shoot any better
the 308 cuts a ragged hole with loads it likes

In your other posts you mentioned moose and elk.  I wouldn't want to go for either with a 308 and a 300 Win Mag will rock your world!

Yes, I will say that the light weight makes a rifle that will slap you.  My T3 Lite is in 30-06 and it's all I want.  I just don't see how those guys with the BIG T3 can stand to shoot em.

I have three T3's in 223, 243 and 308......says it all right there. They are made in Finland and distributed by Beretta. All mine now have the DedNutz 1 piece scope bases and all shoot very well. All of mine have the synthetic stock, they are very strong and stable. People love to rag on the amount of synthetic material but my guns go hunting and have stood up to falling over, being dropped stuff that happens in the field. I don't believe you'll find a nicer shooting gun in that price range. My first Tikka is into year 3, I love 'em.

As many members know, I have been a big fan of Tikkas way back when, when hardly anyone knew about them.  Now, Tikkas have a great reputation for quality and accuracy.   I recommend the Tikka.

I have 2 T-3's and both shoot very well. The 25/06 is a pleasure to soot and the most accurate. The 300wsm is very accurate but slaps you a bit. I would recommend a Tikka to anyone.

Isn't Tika built by FN?  Not knocking it, it's a fine rifle and FN is world renounced.

No, Tikkas are not made by FN.  Tikkas are made by Tikka, and owned by Beretta, which also owns Sako.  Tikka and Sako barrels are essentially the same.

I think that FN makes Browning rifles, but I'm not 100% sure.

I reccommend Tikkas highly.. I have a Whitetail 595 in 308 with synthetic stock and it shoots very good groups with a variety of ammo.   The bolt is glassy smooth and has very little "wobble".. I still love my Whitetail despite the following drawbacks;
- Not a mauser style extractor -(never had issues though)
- magazines are plastic, expensive and are prone to developing release problems  IME
- action is not friendly to single round loading  (not open on top like Model 70 etc)

Oh yeah an I wish I got a wood stock instead... Though I have had good service with this factory synthetic . It is very durable compared to most factory synthetics I have run across.

I have handled (but not shot) a few T3's and think they stepped backwards from the 595 in going to the T3. Likely a $$$ thing..

I have a T-3 in 22-250 one hole shooter with very little work  I actually bought it because it was a good deal and I intended to resale it but I got to shooting it and was very impressed so I tuned around a little and now it has a permanent home.

I have 3 T3 Tikkas and they all shoot extremely well.  If you asked me a year ago I would have said they are more accurate but since then I have shot and seen some Savages that shoot very good right out of the box.  I think the Tikka in wood is a very solid and good looking firearm but that's just me a wood and blue fan.  The T3 action is like silk, but the dead deer doesn't know that.  Both shoot very well.  It's about you preferences and what you like not what other people tell you.  Get what you like the deer won't know the difference.  Any firearm weighing less than 7 1/2 lb. is going to sting when you shoot a 300 wsm or such, were talking physics here.  I put a limsaver pad on my 30-06 and it is a laminate stock pretty tame recoil still a lighter firearm.

I love my T-3 in 25-06. Very accurate rifle with a light crisp trigger and the action is slick as silk. It really is amazing how accurate Tikkas are straight out of the box. A good many of my friends have now bought one after shooting mine. One trip to the range sells this gun to most people. How good do they shoot? Well one picture is worth a thousand words.

I am going to play a little more and shoot some handloads through mine as soon as I finish my current project( a .338 lapua for all the long range challenges) I hope to be very impressed.  The only thing I dont like is the plastic mag. Since I need to be carefull with my details it shoots one hole at 100 yards (1 large hole) at 200 yards it is about 3/4 or so but a little more load sensitive. It shoots 3 inch groups with 45 gr. 4000 fps winchester ammo and does  its best(3/4 +/-) with the 55 gr. remington.  seems to be better suited to heavier is better
