Rifled will probably work better as they are made for smooth bore if they are the foster style you might get a little better accuracy out to 50yards or so but they won't have much energy left. The round ball stuff is pretty good to 30 35 with good pop. Sabot's may just be a waste with out rifled bbl.Try some of the 3 ball self defense rounds mine shoots 2 of the balls 4 inches apart and one of them about 18" from them at 25 yards. There are others here that load there own and may have some interesting rounds to try. There is also a 5 ball self defense round. It is a 3" shell and the balls are "00" rather than "000".Smaller but more in a longer shell. You can buy these in 20 round boxes.

I just bought one myself today. Paid 130.00 at Cabellas. In my resear sh I found that the 1/2 oz. slug gives the same energy as a 357 mag from a 6 in revolver. should be good on game up to small deer.

Phatinjun,
Please pardon my extreme tardiness in answering your question.I did not see it till tonight. At 25 yards they almost all go into two holes spaced about 3 inches apart.I have had a few at 25 yards that made just one ragged hole.
