3006 big sister
« on: February 10, 2008, 05:22:34 PM »
Why is the 3006 cal. available in an acc. brl. and the 270 win. but no 35 whelen. They had them for awhile but not anymore.

  Its been a while for me so if this has been asked before I am sorry for the repeat.

  Thanks

Welcome back! See the 35 Whelen discontinued link in the FAQs or do a search on it.

The short answer is they couldn't or wouldn't make the gun to chamber the standard ammo and fire.

Quick;
   I did a search, but I did not find an answer to my question (why). At this point I would have to assume that if a product does not sell with enough volume to support itself or make a profit it is not worth the investment.
  Even if every person on this site that owns or would like to own a 35 whelen and sent a letter or an email to NEF. That would be a small number of sales compared to the number of 270 win. or 3006's that are sold through any of the (mart) stores every year.

 Thanks for the responce though

It wasn't a demand issue, it was a problem with the chamber and ammo compatibility, so they discontinued it over a year ago.

See 35 WHELEN DISCONTINUED AND AMMO AVAILABILITY in the FAQs.
