Did they drop the 22 Hornet Caliber for 08?
« on: February 10, 2008, 09:57:16 AM »
I don't even see it on the 2008 catalog pdf link above.

I only see the plastic   >:( stock one on their web.

No more wood stock Hornets? Or Hornets at all ?  :o

That would be really foolish IMO  >:(

Not enough small center fires for varmints/predators walking, calling now IMO  you don't need a military or greater caliber for varmints, fox & coyote.  And its not nearly as much of a "long range game" as magazines, writers and companies selling everything from laser range finders, to mega power scopes want you to beleive.

I haven't checked it out yet, but would be very suprised if they did. The hornet was my 1st handi rifle, and served me very well indeed for many years.

I here ya.....

Cheap to reload, extremely fun to shoot and very effective varmint & predator caliber PERFECT for single shot break actions.

Need more Hornets,Bee's,Fireballs (.221) and ..........for the upper range .222's back!

They (writers) are turning varmint "HUNTING" into bench rest "TARGET" shooting !

What ever happened to position shooting,walking,stalking........calling in.......etc and the greater skills needed for it as compared to set shooting?

You do NOT need military calibers designed to take down 175 pound men inside 200 yards to hunt G-squirrels, P-dogs,Woodchucks,Bobcat,Fox & Coyote with!!  You do not need 95% of the accessories they want you to believe you need.  They keep trying to turn varmint/predator hunting into a dog gone bench rest match............ish!

Some of my favorite varmit shooting was walking along with that hornet loaded with 40gr bts and shooting offhand at groung hogs. Now I use a 223 mostly, but loaded down using blue dot powder to guess what, pretty much a 22 hornet!!

This was discussed a little in the 2008 catalog sticky thread.

Well...........not keeping the pallet wood while still not offering it in laminate was a foolish move IMO  >:(

I have recommended them a ton.........................guess that recommendation will end as of today unless someone wants to throw away the milk jug plastic after buying and order a laminate or buy a pallet wood used from here.

Dumb !  >:(

I guess...........

Just can't believe that move ???????

Won't go into detail as to why.............but it should be obvious from a sales p.o.v. to all.

Womder if Big Green has something to do with this ?  >:(
