32-40 anyone?
« on: February 07, 2008, 04:00:53 PM »
How about a barrel in 32-40 that is accurate for cast bullet association matches?

it would be a nice match for my Buffalo Classic.

anybody ever built one?  How about a 32 Winchester Special job?  Then it could use loads I am building for my 1921 marlin model 93.

The only .32's that I know of are Stimpy's custom bored 32 mag and the 32 mag that is a stub barrel job that trotter did with a British 303 that I have. He almost did the one I got in I think 32-20 but we talked him out of it and I'm glad we did this things a hoot to shoot I don't compete in anything but I bet the 32-40 would catch a few eyes. Kurt

I don't remember about the 32-40 but the 32 win special is a true 32 caliber it uses a 321 diamater bullet not a 310-312 diameter bullet so it would be a special bore job. Which bring up a question. Has anyone looked into just relining a handi barrel with a liner from some one like Redmonds to get the claibers we want that H&R won't produce I know there are a lot of diifferent liners in almost all calibers avaiable.

Thanks for the links.  Wonder how it made out over the last 3.5 years with his 32-40.

It must be working well for him . I bought 500 pieces of 32mag brass from him so maybe he's just a 32-40 man now . Kurt
