A Unfired S&W Model 25-2
« on: February 07, 2008, 03:24:48 PM »
Hello
I have wanted to add a model 25-2 to my collection for awhile. I Located one advertised as N.I.B. with Presentation case, tools, and Original paperwork off The Internet so I E-mailed the guy and sent him the payment. It showed up Yesterday and I can now put it with it''s Cousin my model 25-5 in .45 Colt. I learned it was shipped two Years ahead of my model 25-5 in 1977. Here are some pictures of it. Regards, Hammer down

Hammerdown:  those N-frame Smith and Wessons are beautiful handguns and yours is a superb example.  Congratulations on finding that one.  When people speak to a quality finish, the S&Ws have that in spades.  Mikey.

Hello Mikey
I appreciate your Kind words. S&W Like all other gun manufacturers has had their up's and Down's with quality of their gun finishes in the past. The most Gorgeous to me is The Pre-War Deep black shinny Carbonna Bluing. It was time consuming but the Highest level of finish known to Man. The Era around 1960-1980 is their sweet spot for top quality shinny bluing and will never be repeated due to high cost and federal Regs. on the Caustic Process they have to follow. S&W had some of the nicest Bluing and Nickel finishes I have ever seen in this time span.. Hammerdown
