BL-22
« on: February 06, 2008, 07:27:17 PM »
Dad just gave me his Bl-22, which I am glad to have.  Only problem is it is dirty---gritty feeling with every moving part.  I have spent a couple of hours trying to research how to tear it down with little to no luck.  From what I have read this is going to be a challenge.  I have not even figured out hot to open it up yet and need some help.  I removed the one screw in the receiver and it does not seem to be holding anything together.  I looked at the schematic online and the owners manual with not much luck, it says not recommended.  I need to know how to disassemble, any thing to watch out for, and any tricks and advise on this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

The manual will tell you how to disassemble the rifle. If you do not have the manual that came with the rifle you can look at one here

Just scroll down and click on BL-22

I have found that already, the schematic will come in handy.  But the 2nd page says further disassembling not recommended and they do not go in to how to do it.  However, this gun needs to be cleaned end to end.  I need a little guidance from some one who has done this.

Found what I needed on another forum but chickened out and ran a can of gun scrubber through it followed by a can of wd-40 and allowed it to drain in a towel for a day or so and turned it to drain in the other direction and wiped dry what i could get to and lightly applied a little rem-oil and works like new now.  The pressure out of the two cans is what did it I think but made a hard job easy.
