That seems a bit ridiculous but if we don't protect our rights we could be in same situation very sad.

It has already started in Canada with the long gun registry. Our new Conservative(Alliance+Reform) government promised to trash the long gun registry, a $2 Billion program,  in favor of hiring more policemen but has not had the courage to do so yet. Some people still believe that the criminal element in our country can be be controlled by the long gun registry. GUNS DO NOT KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL People. The sooner our governments face this difficult truth and start dealing with the social issues that cause gun violence, the better off we will all be.

I could go on but I won't, my blood pressure is rising as I write this.

We need to protect our rights and support Pro Gun organizations and not buy from anti gun or hunting. I hear Coke A Cola has given to anti gun and hunting organizations and other so we need to do research and find out info like this. Its the only way we can win.

In this video they show tens of 1,000'S of firearms being confiscated and destroyed. I just don't think I would be one of those people standing in line to give them my guns. Dale

The Brits and the Aussie's are, quite simply, sending us a cry of warning!!!!  This next election is more crucial than most give it credit for.  I believe the government that fears your firearms possession is a government WE should fear.  Should the time arise in this nation when the government completely loses touch with the reality that it is supposed to be an entity for and by the people, then the people have a responsibility to remind them, by force if necessary.  Hence, the Second Amendment, and let us not become complacent or else we no longer are free. Our founding fathers knew this because in writing the Second Amendment, they were making clear the way for freedom against just such a government.     

Nothing is more important than the preservation of the Second Amendment.  There is no other issue that carries such weight.  Not the economy, taxes, nothing.  Without the Second Amendment, we obviously have no means by which to keep our government in check. Historically "empires" last no more than a couple of hundred years and we are beyond that period of age now.  We simply cannot afford to continue to be the silent majority, lest we fall to the same fate as the "empires" that came before us. We must preserve our democratic integrity, no matter the cost.  I would rather die standing up than to live the remainder of my life on my knees.

why would our government want to take our firearms away? I read somewhere there are enough firearms here in the United States one for every man woman and child. With our armed forces spread so thin around the world who do they think is going to protect this country when China or Russia or some other country decides to drop in here and have world war 3. We have always taken the fight from our soil but don't think for a minute the fight could not be here. The people who have the firearms will be fighting along with the military in case of such of an event. I guess we would be considered the insurgents. Think of how hard it would be to take over this country with our current state of firearms. They need our land so I don't think it would go nuclear. I feel it would be a stupid move on our governments part to disarm us for this reason. Dale

If even a portion of the $2 Billion Long Gun Registry money had been spent to support early childhood learning programs and parenting programs, our society would be building better socially adjusted people that would never think of harming others. But that's just my opinion.

By the way, some Americans undoubtedly see our Long Gun Registry as a model for an American Long Gun Registry, so don't get too comfortable because it just affects us Canucks in Canuckistan.
