38 special info....
« on: January 30, 2008, 03:39:49 PM »
I have a 38 with the name  ROHM  GMBH  SONTHEIM/BRZ.
Seems to have FALCON on the grips also MADE IN GERMANY on one side of the barrel.

Just want to know if anyone knows anything about this company, If its safe to shoot.
Seems to be in average shape for an older pistol, but I have heard some bad stories about some cheap specials.

Rohm brand revolvers made in the former West Germany are at or near the bottom of the quality manufacturer's list of guns formerly imported into the US.  The frames are usually made of some die cast zinc alloy, and the cylindes and internal parts are unheat-treated steel.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this brand of gun generally breaks down and is discarded and gunsmiths do not attempt to repair due to the low quality of parts and liability issues.
