Hey PA members in the Lancaster County area.  Four of us Handi guys are visiting the area this weekend, just to search Gun-Shops all day.  Is there any shops that we really should visit.  Names and towns, please.  We are coming up from VA and MD so anything en-route would be great.  Thanks for any info.  Mike

GrandpaMike:  I am not sure which route you are taking to get to PA, but a popular gun shop in western MD that frequently has several Handis is Hendershot's in Hancock, which is located at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 68:

Not difficult to find, as it is right on the main street that goes through downtown Hancock.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me into the great outdoors.

Try Shyda's Gunshop in Lebanon. It is about 15 miles north of Lancaster just off Route 72. Great selection of guns plus a clothing outlet barn. You might also want to head to Harrisburg for the Eastern Sports and Outdoor show at the farmshow building. Just search the web and you can find info and directions. Probably about 45 minutes from Lancaster. Not many guns there but tons of outfitters and other gear. Have a great weekend

While in Harrisburg; visit Bass Pro shop and Gander Mountain.Do a search for directions.

+1 on shydas, great selection of guns and also a little reloading stuff, also Richland shooters supply in Richland isnt too far away from Shydas, 10 miles maybe. They are a good place to get reloading supplies, especially shotgun.

SHYDAS GUN SHOP / CLOTHING BARN
   1635 SOUTH LINCOLN AVE
   LEBANON, PA  17042
   ph 717-273-6572

RICHLAND SHOOTER SUPPLY
     PO BOX 645
   207 SOUTH PARK ST
   RICHLAND, PA  17087
   ph 717-866-4246

And Enck's gun barn is about 3 miles away from Richland, a great place for Cowboy action shooters. Probably my favorite shop.  http://www.encksgunbarn.com/. for directions

All three are in Lebanon
county just north of LAncaster county, about 20 minutes.

I live in Berks county about 5 miles from Cabelas but I still prefer to go to those three shops. Cabelas is getting a little hard on our local gun shops.

oops just checked enck's gun barn site, they will be closed until feb 7 for "remodeling and inventory". Too bad, nice little shop.

Also The Sportsmans Shop in New Holland is ok.

Gander Mtn has a store just off of I-81 just north of the PA MD line
3285 Black Gap Road
Chambersburg , PA 17201

not really a gun shop but if your coming up 81 its just off the exit, I think the Scotland exit about 20-25 mile marker I think.

http://www.tropgunshop.com/ is a great shop, a little farther west in Lanc Co. and I dont get there very often

A bit farther north of Lancaster gets you to Pine Grove and Keefer's Gun Shop. Open evenings during the week and daylight hours on Saturday. Once you get to Pine Grove you'll have to ask for directions since it's a bit complicated getting there. Pretty good selection of new & used.
