Any new rifle I get if I don't have time to work up a load I go get some Federal Hi-Shock. My .308 will put three in under an inch at 100 yds. I think it is some of the best off the shelf ammo there is. There's a Antelope buck (275yds) and a Mulley doe (330yds) in my freezer thanks to Federal 180 gr Hi-Shocks this year. I have been using 160 gr Nosler Accubond Federal ammo.  Groups <3" @ 200 yds from bench on the range.  Bagged a large 6 pointer in November at 165 yds in spite of the high winds.  He cartwheeled and never got up.  Bad news is they aren't making it any more.  Recommend you pick some up if you can find it.  Also got an order in for some Hornady 139 gr SST Moly Mag.  Hard to get up here in Canada so I am waiting a few more months to have some imported.  They just gotta be good!

Looks like Federal replaced the 160gr AB with the 160gr TBBC.
