Does anyone know when these bullets are going to be made available from Hornady for us reloaders?

Not until they catch up with the ammo demand.

Since there are lots of plastic tipped bullets on the market Hornady surely holds no patent on that idea. They may have a patent on one particular blend of plastic but I think anyone who wants to can make a soft plastic tip and there is really no reason all plastic tips could not be made soft enough to be safe in tube magazines, it's a wonder to me that all plastic tips were not made soft from the get go. Hornady's Leverevolution factory load has more to offer than just a plastic tip, accuracy and velocity from my .35 Remington were both outstanding. I think they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they don't get the bullets on the market before someone else does.

Was noodling through G&A at the magazine rack and see these are now available in 357 Magnum in a 140gr, 1200fps revolver and 1800fps rifle.  Hummmmm

Make your own.

I've been reaming out 300gr JHP's to about 255gr for the last few years for groundhog.   Just a couple weeks ago I've been attempting to form a rubbery point to partially fill in the cavity some to add to the BC of the slug instead of being a flying ashtray.

Right now, I've settled on using hotglue to use as the tip.  Working on making a mold for them now.   Once the mold is complete, I'd use the gluegun to fill the mold - then once cooled, open it up and just push the tip into the nose of the bullets.   I'm gonna guestimate that the point would help expand my ashtrays for more red-mist effect.
