Happy New Year.
« on: December 31, 2007, 05:38:42 PM »
From the old grouch, it is 2-1/2 hours before the new year and I am having a 50/50
egg nock an Captain Morgan rum. What is your favorite New years drink?

Perhaps after a while this drink may give me atrial fibrilations but I have pills
for that. A Glass of  champaine  with bouf a tartar garnished with anchovies will be my last meal this year. Eh, I make this myself unbelievable good.
Chopped lean beef steak, chopped onions, egg yoke, olive oil, season salt ,
pepper, anchovies, buttered tost, and champaine. Ah, and don't forget the Greek capers.

Hope I wake up in the moring.

Happy new year to all the handiholics.

You can tell by the time of the post that I went to bed before midnight. I have not stayed up the last two years. The wife and I watched a movie on the home theater, had some boiled shrimp with dippin' sauce. Thought about a glass of wine, but did not make that either. Happy New Year to all of the good folks.

We were also in the sack before midnight.

Our celebration is rather quiet.  We have the children and grand-children over for steamed shrimp, honey baked ham, green bean casserole, homemade pepperoni loaf and plenty of home made brownies, cookies and other tasty treats.

Soft drink and iced tea are the beverages of choice.  A good cup of coffee and homemade apple pie, a la mode, for desert.

The children were gone by 10 PM. The Mrs and I finish returning everything to order, sit a few minutes to relax with a final cup of coffee, then retire for the evening.

Happy New Year to everyone.   :)

My favorite drink several years ago would have been Vodka and whatever I could find to mix with it ;D
We went to bed a little after 10:00 last night.
The wife did buy one of those big shrimp platters from WalMart that come on those expensive black plastic trays with a clear see through plastic top...its the same plastic thats used on the space shuttle  ;D
A Happy New Year to all.

Actually...

we started spring cleaning yesterday.  Everything's all over - 'Oh, so THAT'S where those gun parts went to!'  Daughter worked at the ski hill - son's home for a visit.  We had a homemade spaghetti dinner, and then momma and I went to sleep.  I usually don't like getting woken up after I'm asleep, but the kids called every time they left one party and made it to another - we didn't mind at all.  They didn't drink and made it home a bit after the ball fell.  Some times I think there might be hope for them yet.;)  As for me, it's a choice between handi's or hair-of-the-dog...hmmmm.  HANDI'S!

May your handi's shoot great in 2000 and 8!  (made that up myself)

Good lord Fred, you must have really great nightmares eating stuff like that before going to bed!

A half-tumbler of Sangria was my "cheers" drink for the new year. Had to hit the sack early too, as my sweety works today and went to work at 5:30 am.

I pretty well did the "stimpy" thing except for me it was coffee with a little cream. We were in bed by 9:00 pm also.

Happy New Year to all here and I wish the best of health to all of you in the coming year. May the best that shooting and hunting has to offer come your way.

And good 'ole Diet Coke.  Back was a little hinky from slippin' on the ice and Mama had to work today, so it was an early night.  About 10 and then up to greet the new year about 6.

I don't partake of alcoholic beverages and last night actually was in bed by 10:30 PM for a change. Lately I had been getting later and later turning in so was quite exhausted and gave up early. The fire works in the neighborhood did briefly wake me at midnight but I was soon back asleep again. I'm not much of a partying type so we made no plans and again as usual we did nothing special to ring in the new year. It's been a whole lotta years since we have.
