New Handi's first hunt...
« on: December 21, 2007, 07:54:51 AM »
I am going down to my mom's place for Christmas and I am going to deer hunt in the morning for the Antlerless Only special gun season.  I will be trying out my new .243 handi and hopefully I will come back with a cut up deer and a story.  I am more of a duck hunter so except for tomorrow I will be just taking the Handi to the duck blind with me.  Tomorrow morn is just for the deer though.

Hopefully they won't be swimming or flying for long.  I see far more deer in the duck blind than I do deer hunting because I spend more time there.  This time I will have a rifle with me, which means I won't see anything.

Quick, speaking of swamp deer, if you ever get a chance to watch any Duck Commander videos, you might just see some swamp deer killed.  There is one video where he shoots a running deer and she does a complete flip in the water.

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the invite, but I don't care for duck hunting or even to watch it, soon as I see waterfowl on the satellite TV listing, I'm on to bigger and better stuff, I'd sooner watch golf! ;D

Hank, let's just say I've golfed several times in my life, but I've only hunted ducks once, the first and last time when I was a bit younger than you, don't care to eat em either. :-*

Kind of reminds me of a dog I once heard about. When the dog was spotted running across the water to retrieve a duck, the owner replied "Embarrassing ain't it. I done had this dog three years and he ain't learnt how to swim yet!!"

Well, semi bad news.  While I am sure the Handi would have performed admirably, my son had surgery the day before to have a cyst removed.  He was really freaked out after the antisthetic so I had to stay and help with him.  I did however slaughter those delicious ducks.  I just pulled them off of the smoker this morning. mmmmmmmmmm good.

I went golfing once. That hole with the windmill in the middle
of it was a real mother! ;D  I would rather go hunting any day!
