Benelli Super Nova
« on: December 19, 2007, 02:55:20 AM »
??? I have been looking for a new Goose gun and have narrowed my choices down to A Mossy 835, BPS 3 1/2 and finally the Super Nova. I have used a Mossberg for 40 years or so but my last 12 ga was a BPS. I started looking at the Nova and have been impressed with the fit and function with the gun. i had a Nova and it was about as smooth as sand paper. Shot it well but to clunky for my taste and slow to pump on follow up shots. The Super is another story much smoother and a tighter action seems well worth the extra $ 120.00. With this said the BPS and Nova are close in price and the Mossy seems to have slipped in QC which do you think is a better shotgun for the dollar spent? I know it will have a 26" tube regardless of which gun i get. Thanks,  Jess

Since you're looking for more kaboom, have you considered a 10 gauge BPS? I think they're still available.

I have the BPS 10ga with 26" barrel.  I love the gun.  It's my standard goose gun, and my was my turkey gun for several years.

I also like the nova.  If a person is a bit shorter on cash, right handed, and looking for a real waterfowlers gun I recommend the nova.  It's not as good as the BPS, but usually a bit cheaper.

The BPS is the best hunters shotgun made today.
