What do you guys think of the Adams & Bennett barrels from Midway? Any experiences will be helpful in my decision making. I'm thinking 257 Roberts.
THANKS!!

Acceptable accuracy, but for me the contours are a bit heavy. I had a 6.5x55 made up on a Mark X action using an A&B barrel, had to have the barrel turned down as the rifle came in at 8lbs even before I put a scope on it. After turning, the rifle would group approx 1" no matter what factory load I put through it. I ended up selling the rifle because it was the least accurate 6.5x55 I had!

I have a (Stevens 200) 223 with a varmint contour barrel that shoots really well. The 257 Roberts you are looking at is a factory contour #1. I think this is a lighter weight barrel. As far as accuracy goes, I have personally have had good luck with them. I have had a 10/22 barrel, a 221 Fireball and a 223 barrels. Here is a target I shot last spring. The lower left one was shot with the 221 Fireball the rest were with my 223. The 223 took a lot of barrel polishing to get it to where it did not copper foul.

Here is one I shot later in the summer to check zero after my brother-in-law said it did not shoot straight after missing 3 ground hogs. I shot it at different powers just to check.

I think it shoots just fine. It has been modified just a little ;D

I've had good luck with the A&B barrels on Savages.
