Which Talley Bases for a Winchester model 70 375h&h ?
« on: December 05, 2007, 08:54:55 PM »
OK guys and gals, any of you really familiar with the Winchester M70 rifles?
I want to put a set of Talley QD rings on that new Winchester Safari Express .375 H&H I just bought recently. I went to the Talley website to see what they have and man am I confused. Which bases do I need for this rifle?
I'm a bit confused...

I'm obviously more interested in the thread size - regular or 8x40

Anyone know 100% for sure?

thanks

curtism1234,

You probably have the standard 6-48 thread in your receiver.  You may want a gunsmith to open them up to the 8-40's to give you a little more strength.  The other choice you have, extended bases, depends on what scope you decide on.
