« on: December 01, 2007, 06:16:05 PM »
Ok guys anyone know who is making a leather concealment type holster for the 4" redhawk?
I know desantis is but that isn't really the feel I wanted...

I tried to put my 4 in Redhawk into a Galco DAO like someone said it would fit and it did not.  The only way to make it fit would be to remove the tension screw.  I dont know if that is a good idea.  I have a Simply Rugged for mine for concealed carry.  I like it and it was not expensive.  Rob is a great guy to deal with.  I am still trying to find a field type holster for mine with no luck.

I was refering to leather holsters. They have a little more lattitude as to what will fit in them. If a gun is tight just leaving it in the holster for a week or two ill cure most problems and if it doesnt all you need to do is soak the holster in water till soft form it around the gun and allow it to dry with the gun in it. Thats how custom holster makers get leather holsters to fit.

I had a hard time finding a leather holster for my srh with 9 1/2 inch barrel. Check the sturm ruger website, that's where I found mine.

Ruger does not stock a holster for the 4 inch Redhawk.  Nor does Galco make one in the DAO model.   If they would get with it they could sell a bunch.

Robs the man and does make a quality holster at a real reasonable price. Hell of a nice guy to boot.

I got the Desantis thumb break for the 4" N frame. As I have an old model 28 I figured I couldn't go wrong. When it came in it fit kind of tight but has since worn in just right. Now that the redhawk fits it the 28 is sloppy, oh no.... have to get another holster
