Question on ordering
« on: November 29, 2007, 01:00:29 PM »
I will be going to the gun shop next week to order a 45-70.
I don't want the palletwood stocks. Will the company let me order it with cinammon lams and just charge me the difference versus the palletwoods??
Or will I have to get the gun as is and buy the lams. separately??

Thanks Spanky

They aren't a custom shop, you'll have to order a rifle thru a distributor and get the stocks from H&R, H&R won't sell direct to a regular dealer.

I kind of like the palletwood stocks. Sometimes you get some interesting grain
in the wood, like my 22 Hornet here With a little patience and some elbow grease
you can refinish them with Tru Oil and they turn out real nice. I like the like the
laminated stocks too.

MSP Ret,
Thanks, but actually I didn't refinish them. They are as they came from
the factory. I was temped to refinish them, but they look so good
I decided to let them be.
