I'm trying to figure out why the pictures are not uploading properly.  I think there's a remote firewall blocking access to the public album.  It's late, I'm tired,  I will work on it tomorrow evening.  Sorry for the trouble.  Dom

There may be a problem with the site.

I tried to go directly to villagephotos.com  and could not get on.

Terry, I loaded the photos on the village site without a problem last night, then something happened to their site and it just wouldn't open.  I will work on it this evening.  Thanks,  Dom

Well for one thing you have the code wrong...

Your code look like this:

Code: [Select]
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-1/1237240/003(530x398).jpg

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-1/1237240/006(530x398).jpg[img][/img]

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-1/1237240/010(530x398).jpg

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-1/1237240/011(530x398).jpg[img][/img]

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-1/1237240/028(530x398).jpg

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2007-1/1237240/026(530x398).jpg[img][/img]

It should look like this:

Code: [Select]

It the front of each link should be:

Code: [Select]
and at the end should be:

Code: [Select]
[/img]
When I tried to fix things I kept getting a Gateway timeout error.  Server is not reachable.  So it sounds like villagephotos might be down.

That still didn't fix it. I went in and made the change to put the img in front and /img at the end but it game me a snytax error still and then put both at the end again. Weird. I'm thinking your image hosting is the problem.

I suggest you open an account with www.myhostedpics.com and use that as we know it works here as it's our hosting service and on our server.

I will try one more time to get it to work but if it doesn't then use our hosting service and it should fix things.

Nope still didn't work. Your image hosting service has to be the problem. Use My Hosted Pics. It works.

Interesting; I can cut and paste the image URL into a new browser window and the image displays fine.  Maybe the host site is working correctly now as the other links also work.

I have 3 out of 5 pictures opened in the first post, and the photo in George's post.  I will try posting the other photos with myhostedpics.  They are more of the same cannons.  Thanks for helping with the problem.  Dom

Thanks Lance,  A local cannon collector asked what would be a "neat" and "different" kind of gun to build.  I told him the neatest gun I have seen is Seacoast artillery's Parrot- Barbette.  I directed him to Mike and Tracy's website and he's hooked.  So he said build me one, only larger, so that's how it came to be.  The other is a golf ball swivel gun copied from a photo I saw in the late Howard Brown's collection cannon catalog.  The top photo is a redesigned deck gun.  Different wheels and shorter side plates.  Steel carriage of course.  Dom

I ended up with the swivel cannon, which arrived a couple of days ago, but I only got home to look at it today.

It's really first class work all the way!

The lanyard ignition works great, Dominic added it for me after the pictures he shot. I did have to fire one of the .22 blanks it uses for a cap when I set it up. It's very heavy duty and nicely finished.

I'm going to try to get it test fired this weekend before I have to go back out of town.

I'm going for the Dictator next!

Thanks, Dominic!

Greg
