excalibur VS ten point

What would be the pros and cons off these to brands, if you had and unlimited budget what would you recommend?

Both good companies w/ good products and service.  Basically, they are like apples and oranges as one is a recurve and the other a compound.  Recurves are simpler and wider.  They rarely breakdown and you do your own maintenance w/o bow monkey.  I shoot Excals.  The Phoenix is my bow of choice, the Emax is overkill and hard on servings, tiring to cock repeatedly at 225#

Ten Point makes nice product but too expensive as far as I am concerned and Excalibers I think are are more accurate having shot both and Excals have less maintenence and what there is you can do yourself. I shoot an Excal.

In my opinion its impossible to beat Excals if you want a recurve. Aswshucks owns a Emax and its a bear! The 200 lbs are ok, i also have a Phoenix that i 3-D shoot with. I hunt with Miss Vixen! I don't need to wrestle hard to cock heavy lbs during freezing cold hunting! Never have shot one of the CB compounds during freezing cold. I just don't know how they will do. I do know about the Excals down to 0 degrees and they're great.

I looked at both companies when trying to decide on what bow to get. I went to the store and shot them both.

it is true the re curve bows are easy to work on then the compound bows but I ended up getting a ten point phantom and I am happy with but still have some bugs being worked out. I got one of the very first ones that hit the market.

what really sold me on the ten point is the acudraw. it makes it so easy that my 7 year old son can cock my bow with no trouble. I didn't like the way the crank-a-roo sat on the excalibers and it was something else to put in my back pack and drop from the stand. the acudraw stays on the bow and the only thing you have to worry about is the handle and a normal socket wrench with 1/4" socket will work almost as well.  You can make a acudraw work on the excaliber but it is a lot of work  and expense if you do something wrong.

the only real trouble for the average person with ten point is the price is a bit high. I had to work over 200 hours of over time and save for over 6 months to get mine

If i had unlimited funds to spend i would get a Parker Buck Buster! Would fit all my CB compound needs! ;D
