Buffalo Classic opening on firing
« on: October 21, 2007, 03:36:34 AM »
I was out shooting the BC last weekend, using the Lee 405HB bullet and Pyrodex. The rifle started opening itself, not a very reassuring thing. I thought maybe I hit the latch accidently, but two more tries and it did it both times. I don't see any crud in it, springs seem to be OK, does anybody know a common reason for this to happen and a fix? Thanks!

Break open semi-auto!

That gun would be headed back to the factory if it was mine

Check out the FAQs under pop open med. for some more ideas but the most common are the latch shelf has oil or some other crud on it . Shooting Black or black subs will put a bunch in the action  ( trust me i know ) also check to make sure you are closing it with some force ( snap close ) .

Also check to see that you are getting a proper latch engagement , its in the FAQs .
