Ruger #1 rebarrel

I have a Ruger # 1A in .243 that I'd like to rebarrel to .260 with a 'bull' barrel.  Is this possible with the #1's hanger bar system?
can the bottom of the bull barrel be cut away to allow clearance for the hanger bar???  :o
